COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

The Centre for Community Partnerships is committed to supporting local community-based organizations, to strengthen their capacity to serve their clients, to develop new initiatives, and enhance existing programs.

Our goal is to develop sustained course-based and co-curricular partnerships between the University and the community that community-identified needs and foster mutually enriching outcomes.

The CCP offers tools and workshops to prepare students for community work and to facilitate reflection on the meaning of their experience. We work collaboratively with community organization staff to ensure that both the needs of the organization and the learning goals for students are met.

The CCP hosts community gatherings at U of T for our partners to provide training, professional development, and recognition.

We work to support community-based organizations throughout Toronto and Peel Region by linking both academic courses and student groups to community service. This is referred to as service-learning.

The CCP promotes an academic culture that values community expertise and supports students to become socially-engaged citizens.
