The city becomes the classroom through the Centre for Community Partnerships’ Serve & Learn program. Students have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of issues within the Toronto community through dozens of student-led co-curricular service-learning placements. Opportunities include working with children, youth, seniors, newcomers, food security issues, and poverty.
► Choose a community service placement where you would like to volunteer. Volunteer for approximately 2-4 hours a week for a semester or the academic year.
► Fill out the online registration form and attend the program orientation session or interview session.
► Attend Walk the Talk: Preparing for Service in Diverse Communities and any placement specific training required by the program.
► Engage in ongoing reflection activities with your Project Leader and fellow volunteers to make meaning of your volunteer experiences and see how you can connect your learning to your academic, personal and professional goals. Reflection workshops include:
► Receive the Serve and Learn Certificate by completing the requirements above.
